Smaller than the baboon, the vervet is lightly built and weighs about 10 pounds. It has gray fur and a distinctive black face with white tufts of hair on the cheeks. The scrotum of the older male is turquoise. Like baboons, vervets live in troops and grow accustomed to humans quickly. They can become quite aggressive. Vervets eat young birds, insects, leaves, and seeds.
